Day #3

Hey Daddy! It's me again, Tucker Bug! :)

I guess Momma already told you about my new tooth! (See post below) That's our big news for today. Mommy said you were sad you weren't here.... Well, don't worry, it's still on it's way out and then I have the right one to work on. I'm sure you'll still be part of the experience! I tried to hold off as long as I could! Mommy said I've been a little fussy for a few days now.

Well, since I took such a big nap today, Mommy didn't get too many opportunities to take pictures. At least that's what she said, but you and I both know that means she only took 50 today instead of her usual 100! In this one she settled for pictures of the doggies since I was asleep: So, what did we do today? Well, after my morning nap we went to Target. I'm sure Momma would have taken pictures there except you know how focused she is when she's at Target! At Target we got a high chair for me! Momma says I'm too big for my bumbo and that we should have gotten it a long time ago, but I'm not sure how I feel about that.... I mean I like my bumbo. I can turn around and see what Baby and Lacy are doing.... I can reach for things next to me....

It's fun!

I guess I'll see how I like that high chair. I told Mommy that I want to wait until you get home though.

Of course I played today. Here are a few pictures of me playing in my room:

In this one I was trying to crawl under the stand that my humidifier sits on.
And in this one I found something that looked really fun but Mommy kept saying, "No no, Tucker." I'm not sure why she wouldn't let me play with these fun things?

Oh, and I started kissing my ottoman. I'm not sure why, I guess I just really like my chair and ottoman... Mommy would say, "Aaahhhh," and I would keep kissing it. Then I started kissing Mommy! She says I'm a sweet boy. Then Papa and Memaw got back from vacation earlier than expected so we didn't need to go let their doggies out, so this evening me and Mommy went to the park and walked with my friend Trey and his Mommy.

It was a busy day, and pretty eventful with my tooth cutting through! Mommy says you're coming home tomorrow! I can't wait! I miss you so much! Mommy tries to make the silly noises like you do, but it's just not the same. I love you, Daddy!

We Got Another Toother! :)

What can make a boy take a 3 hour and 40 minute nap when he usually naps 1 1/2 - 2 hours?

What can make a boy who usually doesn't slobber look like this?

What can make a boy look like this at the pool....

.....when usually he looks like this when at the pool:

And plays so hard.....

....that he usually ends up like this:

or this:
A new tooth!!!!

Not sure if you can tell in the picture above or not, but Tucker cut his top, left tooth today (probably during that long nap!)!!! It's just cut through the gums so you probably can't tell from the pic above, other than you can tell his gums are a little swollen...

And let me tell you, the pass few days have been rough for him. We didn't go through this with his two on the bottom which he cut a couple months ago.... So, I was wondering what in the world was going on! A couple great friends said it was probably a tooth cutting through, and lo and behold, there it is! I'm sure the right one is right behind it, so we probably have a couple more days of fussiness ahead of us. One good thing is Tucker has been sleeping relatively well and still nursing good. Let's hope that continues! In the meantime, keep my little man in your prayers! I think this has been pretty painful for him :(

Day #2

Hey Daddy!

How are things in Chicago? Mommy and I miss you SO much! Mommy says she misses you more than I do but I know that I miss you the most! Mommy says if we stay busy that it will make the time go by faster, so that's what we've been trying to do!

I've been playing with my toys.....

....but it's just not the same without you here to play silly games with me! Plus, when I get stuck under the couch, Mommy takes pictures instead of getting me out right away, can you believe that?!

Then, Mommy and I played hide-and-seek. Don't tell Mommy, but she's not very good at hiding because I found her every time!

Next, we read stories. You know how much I love to read!

Today I even helped Mommy in the kitchen. I thought if I helped her she would make me something really yummy to eat, like a baked potato or toast, or give me some shredded cheese, you know, some of my favorites. But this is what she wanted me to eat:My thoughts exactly! Mommy thought she would be sneaky and make french toast using oatmeal and some of my yucky baby food that I don't like to eat. I saw right through that! No thanks! Pass the Cheerios please!

After me and Mommy took a nap we headed to Memaw and Papa's to take care of Mia and Tessa. And guess what! My friend, Eli, and his Mommy went with us! We swam in the pool and had a great time!

Well, until I got sleepy. Mommy said I just had such a long day trying to stay busy that I was tuckered out. So, Mommy gave me a bath and got me ready for bed. But before heading home, Eli and I played on Memaw and Papa's bed.

And that boy Eli sure does love me!And I love him too!

Well, Daddy, I can't wait for you to come home! I love you and Mommy said to tell you that she loves you too!

Day #1

So, Wes is in Chicago for a conference for work for a few days.... This is the first time he has left Tucker overnight, so I promised to keep him "super updated" on our daily "happenings". Well, today was pretty busy with a lot of rip-running around. We went from Shelbyville to Louisville to Shelbyville to Louisville to Shelbyville to Henry Co to Shelbyville. Whew! I'm worn out just from typing all that!

First, we took Daddy and one of his co-workers who Tucker loves :), Marcy, to the airport than hurried back for church. Next, we met Aunt Bridgette for lunch and visited with her at her house, then made a quick stop at home to feed Baby and Lacy before heading to Memaw and Papa's to take care of their dogs while they're on vacation. We're finally home!

I know I promised you I would take lots and lots of pictures, but it's been so busy I've only taken a few. (Plus, you have the small camera and the big one just isn't as easy to lug around and whip out, but that's okay!)

So, for the shots I was able to take:

Here is Tucker and Aunt Bridgette at lunch. And since you know your son very well I don't have to tell you that it took about 5 shots just to get him to look at the camera because he was WAY more interested in the plant behind him, the blinds on the window, the menus and silverware on the table, the couple seated in the booth across from us, and pretty much anything else that he thought he might be able to get his hands on. Oh wait! I just looked at the pics again and actually he never did look at the camera! Well, here are a couple of the attempts anyway.

Oh, and Tucker likes the mashed potatoes at Chili's. He even tolerated Mommy mixing in some organic banana raspberry oatmeal. (Imagine that!)

The next couple pics, well I know you probably don't need any explanation, but I will give a little info anyway....

Apparently Baby and Lacy thought that Mommy and Tucker had come and gone one too many times. Uh, actually, let me rephrase that: Apparently BABY thought that Mommy and Tucker had come and gone one too many times, because we both know this has Baby written all over it:

In case you can't tell, those are Tucker's wipes sprawled across the floor. You can see the guilt on Baby's face. (And yes, she stayed in that spot from the time she heard the garage door open till I made her go outside.)And then there's poor Lacy who doesn't have a clue that the mess behind her is actually a bad thing.... Before you ask, yes I did get on them but not too much. They were good all day and generally pretty tolerable of us leaving them in the house alone all day.

Oh, Tucker and I found the herbs that we were given about a month ago at church and told to take home and plant! We planted them and as you can see, are anxiously awaiting some sprouts. (And for those of you who are reading this that know what these are, I promise that our delay in planting these are in no way a reflection of our commitment to the mission of our church! If you could see the mess that is growing in our garage you would understand how innocently placing them on the table in there upon returning from church that day with the honest intention of planting them within a reasonable time could quickly turn into, "Well if we knew where they were...")

So, that's pretty much it as far as today's pictures go.... But, I did want to leave you with just a small reminder (not that you need it!) of just how much your son loves you:

Disclaimer: For anyone out there who may be reading this and thinking that my being home alone with my son makes me some kind of target in any way, shape or form, you should know that I shot my first 8-point buck at the age of 12 from about 100 yards away. (No joke.) Oh, and my dogs bite to kill!

Tucker and I love you, Daddy! We miss you already and can't wait for you to come home! We hope that you're learning a lot and are having a good time! :)

Tucker's Dad

He's definitely pretty cool (notice Tucker's bib says, "My Dad is cooler than your Dad" lol!)... He LOVES his boy...

He's sacrificial (even if it hurts a little)...

He's strong and supportive...

He's loving, caring and patient...

Tucker's Dad.

Tucker, your Daddy is the best!
He taught you how to give high fives.
He taught you that noises resembling burps (and other bodily functions) are funny, and taught you how to make those noises on Mommy's arm.
He makes you laugh, even when you're too tired.
He'll run to the store just so you have your favorite food for dinner.
He'll bring you into Mommy and Daddy's bed if you get up in the middle of the night, even when Mommy says you have to stay in your bed.
His favorite thing to do is take a nap with you on the couch in the basement.
He has bought you every UK outfit and paraphernalia he has come across.
He makes sure you have the coolest toys.
He sings silly songs and makes silly noises just because you think it's so funny.
He works hard to make sure you and Mommy have everything we need or want.
He emulates Godly love, unconditional love.
Your Daddy is the best!
Happy 1st Father's Day, Daddy. From Mommy and Tucker Bug. We love you! :)

Posts to Come Soon, Promise! :)

I promise I'm not walking away from my blog! I've just been a little distracted by this sweet face:

Can you blame me?
