Frozen Milk Dilemma!

You're looking at approximately 160 give or take bags of frozen breastmilk stuffed in my freezer. I'm looking at blood, sweat and tears! I NEED a way to chronologically organize these. Any suggestions? The only idea I have come up with is to put them in the gallon size freezer bags by month or something? If you have had a freezer full of milk or know someone that has or have just heard of a good way to organize them, PLEASE share!!! On the rare occasion that we give Tucker a bottle, we have to dig around for the earlier dated ones... This is not only a pain, but risks the chance of puncturing one of the bags and waisting my milk (the worse thing ever!).
** Update: Thank you to those that have commented with some great ideas! (And, yes I too try to store my milk flat, which can be tricky when you began to run out of room in the freezer.) I came across this idea while googling ideas. You HAVE to check it out! This woman is SMART! I am totally implementing this!

Tucker Visits the Hair Salon

Yesterday I had a hair appointment scheduled for 4:15. Wes had planned on coming home early so I could make the appointment. Jamie, my amazing hair stylist, called to say she had some cancellations and asked if I could come in earlier at 2:00. I explained to her that I had Tucker and my husband wouldn't be home until 4:00. She suggested that I bring him, saying she would love to see him. "Well, I guess I could do that," was my response. I figured I take Tucker everywhere else and he always does really well, why not the hair salon! And he did great! I took his stroller and he slept mostly, but when he did wake up, he just looked around as usual. He was so patient as Mommy got a hair cut and brow wax. That's my little man! The pictures are from tonight after I got him ready for bed (which explains the aquafor on his cheeks! :)
As you can see, I got BANGS! I think the last time I had bangs was in high school and we just won't go there regarding how long ago that was! :)
And why not include a few pictures of Daddy and Tucker playing a little before bedtime :)

Tucker LOVES his Daddy :)

To Dig or Not to Dig, THAT is the Question!

Oh how I wish I was posting these pictures to tell y'all that I was getting some new landscaping done, wouldn't that be nice? In reality, these are pictures of Wes and my dad digging up my landscape to find a busted pipe. :( Yes, we had a pipe bust or crack or something from freezing. Hopefully they'll find the broken pipe and fix it soon. (And considering they are out there working on it as I type and that these pictures were taken only moments ago, this is actually a real-time post! Take that "slackerville!") :)
Well, at least Wes and I will have no choice but to attend to the landscape soon now! I'm just hoping my bushes survive being dug up and tossed to the side!

(I know it looks like in the pics that my Dad is making Wes do all the digging, but I promise that wasn't the case! They were taking turns. It just happened to be Wes's turn when I snap the photos.)

Thanks so much for coming to help, Dad!!!

To All My BFF's

I have been a slacker in the world of blogging... I can't believe I only have 5 posts for January! S to the L to the A to the C to the K to the ER! Can I use Tucker as an excuse??? I finally did get Tucker's 3 month post written (see below) and as you can see from the date, I did at least start it on the right date...

Just wanted to let y'all know that I have been keeping up with your blogs, just haven't had time to comment them. Sorry for being such a bad BFF (Blogger Friend Forever)! :)

3 Months!!!

My Sweet, Sweet Bubby,

Wow! Three months already! I know I said this in your 1 month letter and then in your 2 month letter, but I have to say it again: You are growing up so fast and time is literally flying by!!! There is not a day that goes by that Daddy and I don't stare in amazement and say, "Look how big he is!" At your doctor appointment last week, you were 14 pounds, 3 ounces! That's an ounce away from doubling your birth weight, so it's no wonder we can't get over how fast you're growing! You are filling out your 6 months clothes completely and some of your jammies and onsies are even 6-9 months! You continue to be L-O-N-G! Just don't grow up too fast....let Mommy enjoy her baby boy!
"So that's where all Mommy's milk goes!"

Besides being a big boy, you are one happy, happy boy! It doesn't take much for you to be in a good mood. You wake up smiling, whether it's 5:00 am or 8:00 am, one look in your bassinet from Mommy and you light up! {Yes, you are still in your bassinet.... But, that's not your fault, it's Mommy's.... You would be fine to sleep in your crib, but Mommy has an attachment issue that we won't go into here.} Anyway, you laugh so hard sometimes that you squeal! That sound is truly the most beautiful sound in the world!
Besides smiling, you talk, talk, talk, talk! You even clearly said "mom-mom" TWICE! The best part, Daddy was around to hear it! Okay, okay, so maybe you were just putting together consonants and vowels and it came out sounding like "mom-mom", but between you and I, I know you were calling for your Mommy. We'll just let Daddy think that it was a coincident (wink-wink). You babble all the time. You love to take part in a conversation. A couple weekends ago, we had several people over and everyone was gathered in the kitchen. You were in your bouncy seat on the bar and you just started talking and talking, getting louder and louder demanding attention!

A change from last month, you LOVE your hands! You hold them together all the time, playing with them. You look at them and they are ALWAYS in your mouth! You have even managed to fit your whole fist in your mouth a few times, but usually its a few fingers that you suck on as you watch the world around you. This creates some slobber, see pic. :)

You finally got your 8 week shots last week (January 12th). That was NOT a fun time, for any of us! The first vaccine was an oral one and you had no problems with that. You smiled and talked to the nurse as she gave you the medicine and you swallowed it like a pro. The nurse even commented on how well you were taking it (if only she knew how much you like to eat anything that goes near your mouth!). But all that flirting with the pretty nurse didn't get you out of your shots... When that mean needle went into your leg, you cried like I had never heard you cry before. I had to wait for what felt like FOREVER before the nurse was done so I could pick you up and love on you. You didn't cry too long, instead you did this humming/whining/talking thing. I think you were asking me how I could allow that lady to hurt you... You were definitely letting me know that you were not happy about what had just happened. Mommy cried longer than you did...and even though Daddy didn't cry, I think he wanted to... And in only a few short weeks we have your 4 month shots.... You have finally started to enjoy tummy time. You raise yourself up, lifting your head and chest off the ground. You're not quite rolling over yet, but you're SO close! If only that dang arm didn't get in the way...
Oh, and you absolutely LOVE bath time! Daddy taught you how to really splash by kicking your legs. I mean REALLY splash! Water gets all over the bathroom floor, Mommy and Daddy get wet. We all have a good time! You get this determined look on your face and you kick those legs like it's your job! Mommy always tells you what a "good kicker you are!"

Those are just a few of the highlights of the past month. Oh how I wish I could put into words the love that your Daddy and I have for you.

All I can say is Tucker Bug, you ROCK our world!

Mommy and Daddy LOVE you more than you will ever, ever know!

ALL my love,
Mommy

Oh The Memories!

I have a several friends who are currently pregnant and one who just delivered today (Welcome Baby Josiah!). It brings back memories of my own prego days and of Tucker's journey into our arms. Some days it seems like that was FOREVER ago, other days, it seems like just yesterday.... But, it always reminds me of the wonderful gift God blessed Wes and I with. And, I am SO thankful for my precious baby boy every single second of every single day!

Tucker being placed on my chest for the first time....happy tears!

First picture of the new family! :) After 9 1/2 hours of labor, without an epidural until I was 8 1/2 cm... I deserved to look that way! LOL! (One day I'll blog about our labor and delivery...)

It's been almost 13 weeks and I could not imagine life without my Bubby! I love him more than I could EVER put into words! To the moon and back times infinite times infinite times infinite times infinite times infinite times infinite....

Absolutely Perfect

A friend of mine, Virginia, got Tucker this shirt. It reads,
"per-fect [pur-fikt] -- adjective
exactly right, without any flaws or defects: perfect little fingers & toes."

I couldn't have said it better myself.

C-A-T-S, Cats, Cats, Cats!!!

It's the biggest rival in the state - UK vs. UofL. Of course, we're a family that bleeds blue! Tucker is already a true blue fan! Just see for yourself:

Yup, we're raising him right! :)
